All hotels in Garden Route. Still worth it for a night or two. The room is well maintained and it is always a joy to have breakfast alfreaco in the deck which is just outside your room. As a nature lover, I really liked that the Robberg Nature Reserve is only a 10 min drive away. We reached Periwinkle after a 6 hour drive from Cape Town. It was nice to be greeted with friendly staff who brought us around for a tour of the lodge, informing us where the facilities were. The room was nice, clean and comfortable with a view of the ocean. We woke up early to chill by the balcony and enjoyed the sun rise.
Definitely recommended stay. It is just a It is just a 5 mins drive from the city centre where the restaurants are located. My family and I felt very much at home in this spacious guest house. There was plenty to keep the kids entertained.
Breakfast was amazing too. We had a medical emergency with one of our Kids and the staff and owner were simply amazing. They showed so much compassion a ND support in a very a scary time. We were sad to leave and are sure to return. Lelanie, the owner was always very helpful, no matter what question we had. Breakfast was very delicious and rooms spacious with own balcony. Would go there again.

The people at Amakaya were super friendly and helpful - particularly Caylan, who goes out of the way to help the guests out. Room was very comfortable and cosy. They also have a very cosy bar within their premises. I would stay here again if I do come through Plett in future. We had a lovely stay here for 4 days, was an ideal location for visiting plettenberg bay and kynsa. The owners were very friendly and helpful and informative about local places to visit. The little cottage was ideal for us with outside garden furniture, swimming pool and breakfAst on the decking with beautiful views.
I stayed 5 places in 1 week during my round SA trip. Only negative review of the 5. This was the most expensive place and the smallest by far. Owners were nice but the biggest issue is what I received for how much I paid.
R for one night. Tiny tiny room with a comfy single bed but hard pillows. Tiny old TV 2. GIANT shower was gre GIANT shower was great and strange for such a tiny room. Tiny trailer sink I could not even get my hands under to wash. Strange wall mounted kettle you have to pour a cup of water into carefully and not spill on the lamp.

Cars speeding by as next to the road. Garages but you much park in their non secure drive in front of the garages and take your chances. Construction all over and main road is blocked. Nice pub and place to eat within walking distance and breakfast was nice but serve yourself and cold meats and cheese and bread and service yourself.
For R I would have had little reason to complain. I was polite but ready to get on my way. Too small and not a good location with no secure parking?

Nice garden as well but I did not sleep in the garden. Hope they listen and make this room half the price and explain better their cash only policy and non secure parking. Hate to be negative but unless you are a very small person this is not the place for you. Especially for this price. There are no cons, only pros. On arrival UP gives you a full run down of local attractions and the many places to eat.
There is a wealth of information to hand which helps you understand the local area. The rooms are well appointed and airy and the ocean side rooms have great views.
